Getting Started

Voice Notes is a Chrome browser extension that allows you to record voice notes on any webpage. Simply click the extension icon and speak - your voice note will be saved and can be shared with others through a unique link.

Install Voice Notes from the Chrome Web Store by clicking the "Add to Chrome" button. Once installed, you'll see the Voice Notes icon in your browser toolbar. Click it on any webpage to start recording.

No, you can use Voice Notes anonymously without creating an account. However, creating a free account allows you to organize all your voice notes in one place, access them from any device, and manage them more easily.

Using Voice Notes

Click the Voice Notes icon in your browser toolbar while on any webpage. Your browser will request microphone permission (allow this). Then click the record button and start speaking. Click stop when you're done, and your note will be saved automatically.

Each voice note has a unique shareable link. Click the "Share" button next to your recording to copy the link. Anyone with this link can listen to your voice note, even without the extension installed.

Yes! If you have an account, you can manage and delete your voice notes from your dashboard. For anonymous notes, keep track of the share links as they are the only way to access and manage those recordings.

Voice Notes works on virtually any website you visit with Chrome. Whether you're reading an article, watching a video, or browsing social media, you can add a voice note to capture your thoughts.

Privacy & Security

Yes, we take security seriously. Your voice recordings are encrypted both in transit and at rest on our servers. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

Only you and people you explicitly share the link with can access your voice notes. We do not share, sell, or make your recordings accessible to anyone else. See our Privacy Policy for more details.

No, we only store the URL of the page where you create a voice note (for context) and your voice recordings. We don't track your browsing history or collect data about your web activity.

Technical Questions

Currently, Voice Notes is available as a Chrome extension. We're working on support for other Chromium-based browsers like Edge and Brave.

There is no strict time limit, but we recommend keeping voice notes under 5 minutes for optimal performance and easier sharing. Longer recordings may take more time to upload and play.

Voice Notes uses WebM audio format, which is widely supported across modern browsers and provides good quality at reasonable file sizes.

Yes! You can download your voice notes as audio files from your dashboard or from the playback page. This allows you to keep local copies or use them in other applications.
